Intern, Give OUT Day
This internship position will report to the Give OUT, Program Coordinator and is primarily focused on developing and coordinating our new national Give Out Day campaign, part of Bolder Giving’s LGBT Equality Initiative.
Give OUT is a new national campaign aiming to mobilize giving to the LGBT nonprofit community by individuals across the country on a single day. With seed funding from the Kevin Mossier Foundation, Bolder Giving is excited to launch this new entrepreneurial program to help leverage new ongoing support for the LGBT community across the country.
Give OUT will be breaking new ground as it adapts a fundraising model that has proven successful for inspiring donors to “give big” through local and state multi-issue campaigns to a national single-issue focus. Working with the executive director, director of programs, program team, and Give OUT Day partners Razoo and Forward Motion, key responsibilities for the intern will include:
- Management of data entry. Specific tasks include adding and updating contact information, creating reports, and generation exports.
- Support of Bolder Giving’s Give OUT efforts by generating correspondence; inputting and editing information; providing administrative support for special events and activities; and assisting with social media & online community engagement.
- Providing administrative support, as needed, for the daily operations for the Bolder Giving office, including (but not limited to) filing, photocopying, and organizing, and running errands.
Qualifications:
- An interest in philanthropy, giving, and social change
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Detail oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Internet research, Social Media, MS Office, and spreadsheets
- A sense of humor and commitment for social justice
This internship is an unpaid educational and professional development opportunity and will require a commitment of 15-20 hours per week (i.e. 2-3 days per week).

Intern, Programs
This internship position will report to one of the Program Coordinators and will provide broad based support to the entire program team. Specifically, the position will focus on three main projects: supporting our transition to a new Salesforce client relationship management database, assisting in our effort to reach out to all bold givers profiled in our story library, and participating in day-to-day programmatic activities. We will work with the selected intern to tailor activities, as much as possible, to their specific interests and to take advantage of their skill set. For example helping with social media outreach or potentially assisting with some development activities.
The key responsibilities for the intern will include:
- Support of Bolder Giving’s effort to reach out to all philanthropist profiled on the site by generating correspondence, inputting data, and editing information.
- Providing administrative support for special events and activities and assisting with social media & online community engagement.
- Management of data entry. Specific tasks include adding and updating contact information, creating reports, and assisting in managing our conversion to a new database.
- Assist in creation of materials for trainings, speaking engagements, workshops, and general events facilitated by members of the Bolder Giving staff.
- Providing administrative support, as needed, for the daily operations for the Bolder Giving office, including (but not limited to) digital filing, photocopying, organizing, and running limited errands.
Qualifications:
- An interest in philanthropy, giving, and gaining exposure to a nonprofit workplace
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Detail oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines and problem solve independently
- Proficient in Internet research, social media, MS Office, and MS excel
- A sense of humor and commitment for social justice
This internship is an unpaid educational and professional development opportunity and will require a commitment of 10-15 hours per week (i.e. 1-2 days per week).
