They say big changes come in threes, well we've had change times two in the past 6 weeks! We kicked off the summer with more transitions than we've seen in two years, some exciting and some bittersweet.
First was the long-expected but still bittersweet transitions of Anne and Christopher, our founders. Anne shifted out of her staff role as Senior Advisor as of July 1st, but will remain on the board. At the same time, Christopher shifted from board member to board member emeritus. It has been a privilege to work with both Anne and Christopher. I'm forever thankful to them for both the personal support they've offered me in my own journey as both a donor and donor organizer, and for the chance to lead Bolder Giving into it's next phase of life. Also in the last month, Thai Pham, our wonderful Deputy Director decided that after 13 years in the nonprofit sector he was ready to take the leap into the corporate world. He's now working as an Account Executive with online luxury travel retailer Luxury Link. Jen Leigh, our long-time communications and social media consultant, also took a leap from her ¾ time position at the Economic Progress Institute to become the full-time Communications Manager for the CVS Charitable Trust, which unfortunately means she no longer has time for consulting. We wish both of them the very best in their new roles!
On the uplifting side of the changes at Bolder Giving, last week Amudha Rajendran, our Administrative Coordinator, gave birth to a beautiful daughter named Samsara. Amudha will be out for the next 6 weeks on maternity leave and we're all excitedly waiting for the chance to meet the newest member of the Bolder Giving family.
We're also excited to announce that Jill Warren, Bold Giver and Executive Director of the Methodist Federation for Social Action, is the newest member of our Board of Directors. Jill brings terrific experience with organizational development to our board conversations, as well as a warmth and energy that we're already thrilled by after just one meeting.
Last but certainly not least, we're delighted to announce that Lindsay Mejer has been promoted to Program Coordinator. She's been a wonderful addition to our program team and we're excited to see her step into this position of increased leadership to help drive our programming forward in the coming years.
In the coming weeks, we'll be launching a search for 1-2 new members to join our staff team so be on the look out for that announcement! We're also looking forward to welcoming several new board members at our fall and winter board meetings, launching several new programs, and continuing our ongoing efforts to get people inspired to give.
