As I was completing my degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, I realized that I wanted to do something for mankind instead of working for the family business which was involved in the heavy construction industry. After completing my studies and getting my degree, I went immediately into the seminary to study to be a priest, believing that was my calling. After four years in the seminary, two years as a teacher and two more years as a VISTA worker in Maine, I realized my calling was in business, particularly the energy business.
I became successful as the owner of several businesses in the oil refining and oil exploration industry. I saw that there were opportunities in renewable energy and founded and now own an energy development and new technologies business in the wind industry. It became clear to me that business could bring good things to the world. I further realized that my real calling was to help businesses become socially responsible. Socially responsible businesses could have a major positive impact on society.
Recently I realized that I could help accelerate the process of businesses throughout the world becoming more socially responsible or making a positive impact on all stakeholders of business by forming a couple of foundations. These foundations will be funded by over 75% of my business interests, creating foundations holding significant assets. One of the foundations is for my four sons and my wife so they may support their philanthropic interests.

Hi Harry Good to see you looking so well and doing even better. I read about you in the recent issue of the Augustinian and fondly recalled the happy days at Villanova and summer time frolics at the Jersey Shore. I am wasting away in Winter Park Florida where I have been Dean of the Chapel at Rollins College. I transitioned from OSA to Congregational Church minister.. Something like Brother Martin. Hope to reconnect . Keep up the good deeds
